M A D 2026
August 23
M A D days sponsored by BVHF Group

M A D (Microwave Activity Days) were mainly to allow new and old members to test current or new gear between VHF/UHF Field days. It has been well represented with many operators taken full weekends in far off places, including a few distance records being either nudged or increased.
Microwave Activity Day – Sunday August 23rd
The next MAD is one of the uncommon events where the MAD and the “23 on 23” occur on the same day. This event is again being coordinated by Scott VK4CZ
The MAD will ‘focus” this time on the lower three microwave bands 1.2, 2.4 and 3.4GHz and will adopt coordinated time slots for each band, which worked well on previous events
a perfect chance to get some 23cms mileage from good locations. Watch this space and other social media outlets for more information and remember please to post your own intentions for planned bands and locations. Also to encourage a visitor/wingman to come with you. (or go out with someone else of course)
As previously advised, this MAD will follow a similar, proved effective approach to the last, with dedicated band slots and the plan for Sunday August 23 is proposed as follows:
